01
The Difference Between a Garden and a Forest
This talk is ideal for Gardening Clubs - The talk looks at how we have designed gardens for our needs. And how we can learn from natural forests how to plant, what to plant and how those plants can benefit us. The aim of the talk is to consider planting fruit and nut trees or those that can provide timber or fuel resources, even in a small inner city garden.
02
Micro Ecosystems
We have all seen the miniature alpine garden in an old Belfast sink. Nature also creates micro ecosystems - on a dead tree, on an old drystone wall. These assemblies are often beautiful and are havens for insects, fungi and flowers. The photographs used in this talk are all taken by Jennifer and illustrate how nature uses colours and how different species benefit from living in close proximity.
03
Creating a New Wood
Many of us can create a woodland. Many woods are now owned by private individuals who value the peace and tranquility of these native woodland spaces. In this talk, aimed at a step by step design of the wood to meet the needs of the owners and to provide any or all of wood fuel, fruit and nuts, timber and amenity value.

The talk looks at some of the key design aspects for a successful woodland. Whether this is a new wood from a field, or revitalising an existing woodland to enable good new growth. And to provide harvests of suitable woodland products for years to come.

While grants are not a specific element of this talk, some of the issues of different grant schemes will we looked at and how best to avoid these issues.
04
Non-Flow Hydroponics

We can all grow our own fruit and vegetables. This talk is aimed at community and gardening groups who are keen to start growing their own fruit and vegetables. Whether this is on a balcony, a small city courtyard or in a rental garden. The taste is better and you know there are no chemicals involved. A mix of container gardening and chemical balances needed to assist plants grown only in water.
05
River Pollution
Aimed at angling groups and community groups who are keen to understand more about their local river. This talk is based around the factors used my book How Clean is Your River? It is interactive in nature and looks at the specifics of a specific local river.
